日本式卒業 / Japanese graduation

今回は日本式卒業をミーム学の観点から分析してみます。

卒業はミーム複合体であって、複数のミームから成り立っています：

1- 涙

2- 感謝

3- 過去への執着

4- 未来への歩み

5- 花

それぞれについて語ってみたいのです。

各ミームは遺伝形質(heredity)、長寿(longevity)、生産力(fecundity)という三つの特徴があります。

1-涙

相手に弱さを示すための現象です。なぜなら、涙で目はぼやぼやして、油断してまう効果があるからです。

どんな人間でも涙を流す器官を持っています。日本では、涙もろい人は少なくない。

2-感謝

感謝って相手から何かをもらったことを認め、その気持ちを表すものです。又助けてもらうことをアピールをする。

利他的行為の一つで、非常にパワーフルなミームです。

3-過去への執着

人間はものを覚えてしまうと、簡単に忘れない生き物です。計算機みたいに簡単に削除することが出来ません。

伝統もそのミームから生み出されて、危ない場合もあります。

4-未来への歩み

その裏にある隠喩って"道"です。とても単純で、だれでも理解できます。空間に於ける移動という概念しか必要ない。

5-花

でかい花束ってカラフルで、いい匂いで、嫌いな方って少ないです。それほど高くないし、どこでも入手できるものです。

以上のミームは遺伝形質、長寿、生産力が高いです。

従って、日本式卒業ってパワーフルなミーム複合体であって、これから生きていく可能性が非常に高いです。

I would like this time to analyze the memeplex of the "Japanese graduation".

A memeplex is just a set of memes.

I think that a Japanese graduation is comprised of the following memes:

1- tears

2- gratitude

3- the attachment to the past

4- the walk to the future

5- flowers

Each meme has 3 features: longevity, heredity and fecundity

Let's analyze in details each meme.

1- tears

It's a device to show your weakness to the person that is listening to you. The tears make your eyes blurry and make you lose your guard.

Everybody is able to produce tears. Especially Japanese people seem to get easily into a weeping state.

2- gratitude

It' s a way to acknowledge the good things brought by someone. It's also a way to show that you wanna be helped once again in the future.

It' s one aspect of altruism and as you may know altruism is probably the most powerful memeplex on the planet.

3- the attachment to the past

Human beings, once they memorize something, find it difficult to forget about it, especially when it' s an emotion. On the contrary, computers can erase any memory with one single command.

By the way, the power of traditions come from this meme. It can even become a dangerous one in certain cases.

4- the walk to the future

There is the metaphor of the "way" in behind. Very simple metaphor that everybody can understand. Relies only on the notion of space and move through space.

5- flowers

A bunch of flowers is colorful, and has a good smell. Almost nobody dislike flowers. Besides, you can find them anywhere and it' s not that expensive.

The above memes have all a high longevity, heredity and fecundity.

Therefore the Japanese graduation is a powerful memeplex that will last for a long time, unless there is an even more powerful memeplex that will blow it away.
